It's the little things that are truly BIG...

Warm Delights....

Some co-workers can be a holy pain in the arse while some are gifts from GOD. I have a co-worker angel at the job and am not sure how I would make it through my shift if it wasn't for her cookie jar, always restocked and her candy file draw (yes the entire top drawer full of candy and not the cheap stuff). It's like she has a pantry ,pharmacy, a bodega and a fruit/salad bar all in her little cubicle. She is an older woman, probably late 50's and is a take no-mess mama; a true Boss lady!
When you have questions, she is also the go to lady for information and updates in the office. She is no fashionista, no cosmetic cutie, no diva, just a humble, hard working co-worker trying to stay alive and share her sweet treats with the world... I have known her for 10 years and have come to truly appreciate her presence. Lately I have been trying to shower her with her own sweet medicine and buying her little sweets here and there. I just feel like I should get some things to say "thanx" . Other co-workers help to keep her candies well stocked and will often leave packages off cookies on her desk . But I try to get some thing just for her ..The other day it was a surprise cup of ice cream and she thanked me saying " it hit the spot". The least I could do...no worries...She is the type of selfless giver that probably doesn't seem to get the recognition she deserves at home or on the job. So I sprinkle her with love and today it was reciprocated ..I walked up to my desk and sitting there was the cutest thing ever ...

Now , I'm trying to be more conscious of what I put in my body and I'm sure these aren't the healthiest of comfort foods but it does have fewer calories and if used a quick pick me up and not as daily indulgence it probably won't do much harm !!!! It'll be even sweeter because some one thought of me, just me !
Now that's nice ...

YUM !

It's nice to have people in a place usually associated with misery, that pick you up and make you forget how bad it is. I rarely have co-workers like that. I bet she does feel unappreciated. I think she'd really love a little card just saying in general terms, what her worth is, you know, something to pick HER up. :)
